Creekside Cathedral is a Sedona Vortex

Being a Sedona artist, this was my first attempt at using oils, and so I created Creekside Cathedral because it is a Sedona Vortex; I thought it appropriate. However, I was only painting in watercolor, and I wanted to be known as a contemporary Sedona artist living in Sedona. So, in 2012 I met an incredible artist named Donny Blackburn, who took me under his wing and taught me how to create a Sedona landscape oil painting.

This image of Sedona’s Cathedral Rock is one of my favorites, so I’ve created this oil painting in 9 different other versions. Sacred Reflections, Fire in the Sky, Church House Rock,  Cathedral Rock, Sedona’s 1st Light & Cathedral Magic. All of these Sedona landscape versions, of course, are a Vortex. Warner Bros. Choose Creekside Cathedral

What’s remarkable is that Warner Bros. chose this whimsical landscape painting of a Sedona Vortex for their media series “Snatchers.” a horror-comedy series about high schooler Sara, who wakes up pregnant…with an alien baby. Back Story of Creekside Cathedral

The fingers of this Sedona landscape painting are a Vortex. The spires are sometimes known as “The Lovers.” So, as the story goes, a long time ago, a Great Spirit watched a couple continually arguing. Then one day, he had the lovers turn around and look. Look, they did out into the world at all the Sedona’s beauty. So great Spirit asked them to count their blessings. From that day forward, they have been in constant harmony. Whimsically kept in a Sedona daydream.
