Rabbit Ears
Rabbit Ears is aptly named for this southwest Sedona landscape formation known as Rabbit Ears. This is close to another Sedona Vortex, Bell Rock. When hiking the Courthouse Butte Loop, this whimsical Rabbit Ears landscape is seen from the eastern end of the “Courthouse Butte trail.” This Sedona landscape formation has always caught my attention, and I delight in the prickly pear cactus in this desert scene with its focus on ears. It seems appropriate to be in this tribute to Van Gogh!
Inspired by Van Gogh
Inspired by Van Gogh’s later works, I’m grateful to have started my career as an artist feeling drawn to work with vivid color in this crazy world of my early years of painting. The images of this acrylic landscape painting give new meaning to the term ‘painted desert”. This development came in a workshop with artist/teacher Bonnie Hartenstein here in Sedona, AZ. The sky you see here was done using both hands simultaneously.
“It must be good to die in the knowledge that one has done some truthful work…and to know that, as a result, one will live on in the memory of at least a few and leave a good example for those who come after.” ~Vincent Van Gogh
