Sweet Dreams
Often, I have a hard time naming my new Sedona art. So, this time I decided to create a contest and offer an 18″ x 28″ Sedona landscape painting giclée free for the person who came up with what I thought to be the best title. That’s how this Sedona landscape painting “Sweet Dreams” got its name! Sweet Dreams was the winning title of 99 entries of this original Sedona landscape art, using acrylics on canvas. Among the names submitted were Daydream, Magical Sedona, Whimsical Sedona, fly with Me, Crazy World, Painted Desert, Magic Kingdom, and Ananda, to name a few.
Sedona’s Cathedral Rock
In the past, coming up with the name of a particular Sedona landscape painting of a place was comfortable, like “Sedona’s Cathedral Rock.” But since I’ve painted “Cathedral Rock.” in 13 different versions, it was a challenge to name the other styles like Vortex Lovers, Sedona’s Sacred Heart, and Soul, Cathedral Moon, Cathedral Magic, Sedona’s 1st Light, Fire in the Sky, Church House Rock, Creekside Cathedral, Sacred Reflection, Whimsical Daydream,
Courthouse Butte
While hiking along the Bell Rock Pathway, I came upon this view of Courthouse Butte, located in the village of Oak Creek, Sedona. I used the reference to create this Sedona landscape “Sweet Dreams” in the style of “Vivid, mystical landscapes.” Living here in Sedona, I delight that I’m never at a loss regarding what Sedona art I’ll create next.

Other examples of Sedona landscapes include Creekside Cathedral (licensed by Warner Bros. for their media series “Snatchers“ Sedona Cactus, Pitiado, and, Enchantment. If you’re looking for a vast panorama, then “Monument Valley” is for you.
Like many rock formations here in Sedona, Castle Rock is aptly named with its turrets and towers. Others are “Coffee Pot Rock,” “Snoopy Rock,” and the single most photographed image in all of Arizona is “Cathedral Rock,” which I’ve created in 13 different versions. Then came “Fire in the Sky,” “Cathedral Magic,” “Church House Rock,” “Cathedral Rock,” and “Sedona’s 1st Light.” to name a few.
